Eyewitness: Butterfly & Moth
Paul Whalley
Dorling-Kindersley, Inc.
Nonfiction, YA Nature
*****

DESCRIPTION: Approximately 160,000 species of butterflies and moths live on Earth, comprising one of the most easily-recognized and beautiful order of insects. Using color photographs and illustrations, this book takes the reader from egg to adulthood, explaining why the line between butterfly and moth is so blurred as to be practically nonexistent, how the caterpillar becomes a butterfly, and some of the strange characteristics of these fascinating creatures.

REVIEW: Like most Eyewitness books, the main attraction here is the excellent visuals. I bought this for the reference images, but found much of value in the text, as well. Recommended to young and old lovers of butterflies, moths, and nature.
