How to Draw and Paint Fairies
Linda Ravenscroft
Watson Guptill
Nonfiction, Art
*****

DESCRIPTION: From choosing media to finishing touches, from basic proportions to choosing poses and clothing, Linda Ravenscroft covers everything there is to know about creating fairies. Included are demonstrations in a number of media, from colored pencil to watercolors, oil pastels, and acrylics.

REVIEW: This is probably the best book on creating fairies that I've seen. Ravenscroft not only covers everything, but offers traceable elements for beginners to get their feet wet with, including facial features and mix-and-match wardrobes and wings to help build the artist's confidence and skill level. That's not to say that advanced artists won't get anything out of this book - anyone with an interest in drawing or painting fairies, rank amateur to veteran professional, should enjoy it.
