*****

DESCRIPTION: This cat care guide outlines various necessities of living with cats, and tackles several common problems of cat ownership.

REVIEW: Kilcommons, unlike some pet experts, actually seems to have some common sense. He doesn't play into the "my cat owns me" routine. That's a cute saying for mugs and T-shirts, but cats depend on their owners to fulfill their physical and psychological needs, and if something's not working it's up to the owner to figure out what it is and how to fix it. The emphasis of this book is on working out and preventing behavioral problems. Despite what many people think, cats are not a "no-maintenance" animal. No living creature is no-maintenance. They all require attention and care, or trouble will result. Kilcommons offers plenty of sound advice, which any cat owner would do well to heed. This is one of my favorite cat care books, which is - unfortunately - difficult to find these days.
