Arms and Armor in the Art Institute of Chicago
Walter J. Karcheski, Jr.
Bulfinch Press
Nonfiction, Arms and Armor/History/Warfare
*****

DESCRIPTION: The collection of medieval arms and armor at The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the most extensive in the world. This book uses photographs of the pieces to outline the history of arms and armor, with an emphasis on their creation and embellishment.

REVIEW: The pictures in this book are second to none. The attention to detail and work that went into some of these pieces is absolutely mind boggling. This book has more of the showier pieces than the other medieval armor books I own, which are the ones I really love to look at. No, I don't know why I like these things... I just do! For others who do, this book is highly recommended! (I also recommend seeing them in person, if possible. I did.)
