Arms and Armor of the Medieval Knight
David Edge & John Miles Paddock
Crescent
Nonfiction, Arms and Armor/History/Warfare
*****
DESCRIPTION: From the earliest records to the end of their glory days in the sixteenth century, this book uses text, photos, and illustrations to track the history of the knight, especially their armaments and defenses. At the end is a brief section outlining how the elaborate suits of plate and chain mail were created.
REVIEW: I found this one in Office Max, of all places. I'm a sucker for medieval armor and Sharp Objects, so I had to pick it up. The text is informative, and the pictures great fun for someone like me to pick through. Anyone interested in the subject, or just looking for nice armor reference pictures from various eras, would enjoy this book.
