Review

Only available through the ProSculpt site (ProSculpt being a premium-grade polymer clay created and marketed by the pre-eminent sculptor Jack Johnston), this is a very good book on sculpting the human form in various poses. As a warning, the projects aren't necessarily for the beginner or the timid, and they are fairly large. He does a pretty good job of explaining what he's doing and why he's doing it, and he even shows how to make socketed joints so limbs can be removed for shipping. Some of his photos are blurry, and some of his works in the obligatory gallery at the end seem to have proportion issues to my untrained eye, but overall it's a visual treat.
