Description

A collection of artwork from Anastasia, the animated film from Fox Animation Studios and Don Bluth, includes notes on the story and how the movie was made.

Review

This is a beautiful collection of art, and an interesting - if a trifle incomplete - look at how they made the film, blending traditional methods and computer animation to create a rich, detailed motion picture. There is a brief history of the real Romanovs, Rasputin, the Russian Revolution, and the story of Anastasia's survival that has persisted to this day, and a look at how they both adhered to and altered the story for the movie. I don't know that I would've paid $50 - the original price - for it, but it was well worth what I did pay for it. My only wish is that they had more on how they made the film, and covered some of the scenes that were apparently considered unimportant by the compilers of this book.
