Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure, and Preposterous Words
Josefa Heifetz Byrne
Birch Lane Press
Nonfiction, Reference
*****

DESCRIPTION: Over the centuries of its existence, the English language has developed some very odd terms for some very odd things. This reference book is a collection of obscure, strange words, both obsolete and current.

REVIEW: This is a fun book to page through. Of course, I've been known to read dictionaries and thesauruses for amusement, so my judgment may be slanted. There are some odd words hidden in the English language, and you'll find many of them listed here. Great fun!
